Week 5: Balance — Work & Life
It’s ‘All-In’ Time – But Make Time for Yourself
Spring and summer is our prime selling season. After a long cold winter would be buyers are eager to get out of the house and see what is new on the market.
You know that in just a few weeks your workload is going to pick up with excited and motivated clients. Our clients are going to need a lot of our time and help.
Chris calls this the ‘All-In’ season because this is when your complete focus has to be on listing and selling houses and making the most of this annual opportunity.
Chris advises his sellers to have their homes ready to list right around Valentine’s Day. Making Mid-February the goal for his clients means that when the first new buyers of the year start to stir, their property is ready to sell.
Here are some things to think about when planning the next six months or so because you not only have to take care of your clients, you absolutely must take care of yourself.
February, March, April is prime time but you need to schedule a Spring Break in here for yourself. Your clients will be taking a break this spring and we want you to plan a break for yourself in here too.
May through July is the peak selling season. It will be busy, it will be fun, and you are going to make a lot of money. But just like in the spring, there are natural breaks I want you to schedule during this time too.
In late May and early June things slow down around graduation parties and Father’s Day. This is a great time to schedule a weekend or two off including a long Memorial Day weekend. July is a critical month too but it is also the peak summer vacation month for your clients and a great time for you to take some time off too.
The last summer frenzy comes between the 4 the of July and the last week of July. By early August things slow down again as people squeeze in their last chance to get some time off before school starts.
And just like that, another great selling season is in the record books.
Stay tuned for next week for some background on our Founder Chris McAllister.
